Weld am Draht AKA World on a Wire

A 1973 German television serial directed by Rainer Werner Fassbinder. Shot entirely in 16mm, the show centered around the Cybernetics and Future Science's development of a supercomputer capable of generating a nested simulation inhabited by over 9000 semi-sentient "units". When one of the units repeatedly attempts suicide, chaos ensues.

World on a Wire's closing credits were notably scored by the '70's rock group Fleetwood Mac.
