Christian Family Research Council AKA CFRC

Hyper-Evangelical American think-tank established as a not-for-profit by child psychologist James Dobson in 1981. The CFRC, as it is commonly known, funds research-based activities that support "family values", and includes a lobbyist arm heavily entrenched in American politics. Though widely heralded in Christian communities throughout the world, the CFRC's various public stances are not without controversy, including:
- advocating for the spanking of children up until the age of sixteen years old
- attributing mass shootings in America as punishment for societal acceptance of gay marriage and legal abortion
- disputing the separate of Church and State, oft claiming the United States to be entirely of Christian founding and heritage
- directly equating birth control with murder and advocating for its illegalization in all forms (except for "coitus interruptus", or "pulling out")
As part of the CFRC's activities, it often weighs in on subjects of common and current interest - at times delving into somewhat bizarre and obscure topics including:
- the (erroneous) attribution of William Gibson's mysterious digital poem Agrippa to the so-called Illuminati.[1][2]
- a costly, multi-year analysis of various activities attributed to and associated with the mysterious cryptographical shadow organization Cicada 3301.
- dubbing hair metal a form of Satanic mind control
- directly contributing to the "Kill the Gays" bill, a proposed Ugandan governmental initiative to make homosexuality a crime punishable by death
- various efforts to thwart HIV/AIDS research and funding
- the somewhat random derision of Commes des Garçons' 1982 Destroy! fashion collection.
- accusing Pokémon of occultism.
- publicly deriding Planned Parenthood as a "temple of Moloch", an ancient Hebrew deity known for child sacrifice.
