Coral Gables AKA "The City Beautiful"
An affluent, Mediterranean-themed Floridian locality with extremely strict zoning laws [1] located in the larger Miami-Dade county area. Home to an extensive underground aquifer system, Coral Gables is perhaps best known for its public swimming culture, a tradition that centers on the Venetian, the largest freshwater pool in America. Due to its high per capita income, high median age, and collectively low "tech-IQ", Coral Gables was used throughout the 1980's and 1990's as a testing ground for new mainstream digital products, including, most notoriously, Knight Ridder's Viewtron system.
