1. PARCO Collexion IV
For the line's final collection, Kuragami triumphed in his efforts to thwart the conventional runway apparatus. Inspired by Kōbō Abe's masterwork The Woman of the Dunes, Collexion IV was unveiled entirely in the remote Tottori Sand Dunes Conan in Japan's Tottori Prefecture. A hotbed for amateur entomologists (like the protagonist in Abe's book), the desolate landscape proved an evocative, if not insurmountably challenging, setting in which to reveal [REDACTED]'s visionary ensembles. Filmed in the dry swelter of late August, a number of models suffered symptoms of heatstroke and dehydration. Where others saw a medical emergency, Kuragami saw high drama - later featuring photos of a supine figure's striped legs in the promotional material. The collexion's cover image featured a model crawling in the sand, bathed in punishing sunlight - as if in quiet defiance and desperation.
